JAPAN TRAVEL AWARDS
Awarding remarkable travel destinations in Japan that are making a positive change to how we travel.
Founded in 2021, the Japan Travel Awards is Shiitake Creative's passion project. The initiative is dedicated to discovering, acknowledging, and celebrating remarkable travel destinations in Japan that demonstrate efforts to promote diversity, inclusion, equity, and sustainable experiences in the tourism industry. The Japan Travel Awards are awarded to unique places in six categories: Most Accessible Travel, Best LGBTQ+ Travel, Best Sustainable Travel, Best Inbound Travel, Best Destination Development, Best Family Travel, in addition to one Grand Prix.
The Japan Travel Awards uphold the core values that good travel should be an experience that initiates positive change in society.
In the first three years following its launch, the Japan Travel Awards received a total of 584 entries from all over Japan, leading to 29 awards.
