Ota City Brochure
A colorful and comprehensive traveler's guide designed to introduce Ota City's attractions to inbound tourists.
Anyone who arrives in Japan via Haneda Airport has set foot into Ota City. But most tourists, unaware of the city's rich cultural sights and activities, bypass this area, heading straight to the city center. To change this, Ota City’s Tourism Department sought our help to revamp its existing brochure, aiming to highlight some of the best ways for tourists to enjoy their time in the city.
The previous Ota City brochure, which had been in use for over 10 years, presented the same information in both its English and Japanese versions, and it required a more polished design and improved copy. Understanding the different reading styles and interests of the target audiences, we identified the need for two separate brochures: one in Japanese for local tourists and business travelers, and another in English for overseas visitors.

The English-language version, designed with inbound travelers in mind, is an easy-to-carry, user-friendly traveler’s guide booklet with a playful and vibrant design that appeals to readers of all ages. Understanding that most tourists may not be familiar with Ota City, we adopted an A to Z format of presenting the city one letter at a time. We further grouped the letters into separate themes, introducing some key concepts travelers are most keen to experience.

Compact and portable, the A5-sized booklet is designed to slip comfortably into a carry bag or back pocket, ensuring it’s always within reach for curious explorers.

In each destination, we further listed icons, displaying accessibility, Wi-Fi, cashless payment, and picturesque spots, all essential factors for overseas travelers when selecting destinations to explore.
